Taffy Town traces its history to 1916, when James Glade founded the Glade Candy Company in Utah. Originally a full-line confectionery manufacturer making salt water taffy, hard candy, chocolates, and other sweets, the family-owned company eventually decided to specialize in taffy. During the 1990s, the business was renamed Taffy Town, Inc., and production became focused on developing its distinctive style of salt water taffy. Today, Taffy Town remains family-owned and operates a 43,000-square-foot factory and candy store in West Jordan, Utah. Its facility produces more than 20,000 pounds of taffy per day, with candy distributed throughout all 50 states and internationally.
