About Sconza Candy

Sconza Candy was founded in 1939 by Vincenzo and Maria Sconza, who began making peanut brittle at night in their family kitchen in Oakland, California. Vincenzo had immigrated from Italy in 1922 and worked in a pasta factory before pursuing his goal of becoming a candy maker. Growing demand turned the small kitchen operation into a family confectionery business, with later generations expanding the company throughout California and across the country. Sconza moved production to a larger facility in Oakdale, California, in 2008, and the fourth generation joined the family business in 2025.

Jordan Almonds feature roasted almonds inside a crisp candy shell and are available in white, assorted, pastel, and seasonal colors. Sconza’s broader collection includes Lemoncello Almonds, Mint Crisp Cookie Bites, Crunchy Toffee Milk Chocolate Almonds, Crème Brûlée Almonds, chocolate-covered dried cherries, Lemon Blueberries, and THINS in flavors such as dark chocolate coconut, dark chocolate sea salt, lemon, and strawberry. Lemoncello Almonds were introduced in 2010 to celebrate Jim and Carolyn Sconza’s 50th wedding anniversary and have become one of the company’s best-known products.
