View full detailsSatellite Wafers, also known as Flying Saucers, originated in Belgium during the 1950s. Belgian confectionery company Belgica developed the candy after adapting equipment originally used to make communion wafers, creating a space-age treat with two lightweight edible wafer shells joined around a candy filling. Flying-saucer styling matched the fascination with space and UFOs during the era, helping the candy gain popularity across Europe before reaching American candy shops. Gerrit J. Verburg Company now sells Satellite Wafers in the United States while continuing to source them from Belgium.
We carry Gerrit’s Satellite Wafers filled with colorful candy beads, Sour Satellite Wafers filled with sour powder, and Blue Raspberry Satellite Wafers with tongue tattoos. Classic Satellite Wafers combine a thin, crisp wafer shell with small crunchy candy beads, while the sour version replaces the bead filling with tart powder. Blue Raspberry adds a sweet-tart flavored filling and a graphic designed to leave a temporary image on the tongue. Packages include individual bags, 100-count and 300-count tubs, 240-count quantities, and other sizes as they become available. Products shown are what is available now, but that could always change, and likely will as additional Satellite Wafers flavors, fillings, and package sizes become available.
You can usually find Satellite Wafers in nostalgic candy shops, specialty candy stores, novelty candy sections, and select retailers. Still, not every location carries classic, sour, Blue Raspberry, bulk tubs, and larger candy quantities. Here at Candy Retailer, we offer a straightforward way to buy Satellite Wafers Candy online for birthday parties, candy tables, gift bags, classroom rewards, movie nights, road trips, retro candy collections, party favors, and regular novelty candy orders. Since we add new brands, products, flavors, and candy types daily, this category can continue to expand as additional Satellite Wafers products become available.
