About Sour Power Candy

Sour Power Candy was introduced to North America in 1985 by Dorval Trading Co., Ltd., a confectionery importer founded in 1966. Sour Power helped popularize sour straws and sour candy belts during the rapid growth of sour candy in the 1980s, and those chewy, sugar-coated styles remain closely associated with the brand today. Dorval continues to own and distribute Sour Power in the United States, while current Sour Power straws and belt products are manufactured in the Netherlands. More than 40 years after its introduction, Sour Power continues to expand beyond its original candy with new flavors, package sizes, and chewy sour products.

Sour Power Belts, Straws & Sour Candy

We carry Sour Power belts in Strawberry, Watermelon, Green Apple, Blue Raspberry, Mango, Pink Lemonade, Wild Cherry, Cotton Candy, Pickle, Quattro, Blazberry, and other flavors as they become available. Long, flat sour belts have remained one of the brand’s signature candy styles, combining a chewy texture with a tart sugar coating. Sour Power’s broader collection also includes straws, Snax Mini-Belts, resealable belt and straw tubs, bulk candy, and Sour Power Bursts gummies. Current Dorval products continue to include both classic fruit flavors and less traditional choices such as Pickle, Passion Fruit, and Cotton Candy.
