Fun Dip began with Lik-M-Aid, a powdered candy introduced around 1942 by the company that later became Sunline. The original candy consisted of flavored powder that could be eaten directly from the package. The Fun Dip name entered commercial use in 1972, when the product evolved into the familiar combination of flavored powder and an edible Lik-A-Stix dipping stick. Nestlé later owned the brand as part of its American confectionery business before selling that business to Ferrero in 2018. Fun Dip is now produced by Ferrara Candy Company.
