About Necco Candy

Necco Wafers began in 1847, when Oliver Chase developed a machine to produce thin sugar-candy wafers in Boston, Massachusetts. Chase & Company later joined other confectionery businesses in 1901 to form the New England Confectionery Company, better known as Necco. Production stopped after the original company closed in 2018, but Spangler Candy Company acquired the Necco Wafer brand and returned the candy to stores in 2020. Today, Necco Wafers continue to use the familiar flavors and wafer shape associated with the original candy.

We carry Necco Wafers in Assorted and Chocolate flavors, both sold in 24-count boxes. Assorted rolls include Orange, Licorice, Clove, Wintergreen, Chocolate, Cinnamon, Lemon, and Lime. Chocolate rolls contain only cocoa-flavored wafers for customers who prefer chocolate over the mixed assortment. Each roll contains thin, crisp candy wafers with a light, powdery texture.
