Introduced by Life Savers in 1973, Bubble Yum became the first soft bubble gum marketed in the United States. Nabisco acquired Life Savers in 1981, and The Hershey Company purchased Bubble Yum from Nabisco in 2000. Hershey continues to own the brand and currently manufactures Bubble Yum in Mexico. The brand is also recognized for Floyd D. Duck, its bubble-blowing mascot who appeared in television commercials in the 1990s and remains on Bubble Yum packaging.
