About Snickers Candy Bars

Snickers Candy was introduced by Mars in 1930, with the first bars manufactured in Chicago and sold for five cents. Mars says the Snickers name was inspired by a horse owned by the Mars family. Roasted peanuts, chewy nougat, caramel, and milk chocolate established the combination still used in the Original Snickers Bar today. Snickers Ice Cream followed in 1989, and the “You’re Not You When You’re Hungry” campaign debuted in 2010. Today, Mars identifies Snickers as the world’s best-selling candy bar.
