Founded in 1824 by John Cadbury, Cadbury began as a grocery shop at 93 Bull Street in Birmingham, England, where John sold cocoa and drinking chocolate that he prepared himself. The company received a Royal Warrant from Queen Victoria in 1854, introduced its first milk chocolate bar in 1897, and launched Cadbury Dairy Milk in 1905. Cadbury later became known worldwide for chocolate bars, filled chocolates, Easter eggs, Mini Eggs, Creme Eggs, Caramello, and other confectionery products. Mondelēz International owns Cadbury globally, while The Hershey Company has held the license to manufacture and sell selected Cadbury products in the United States since 1988.
