Chuckles

About Chuckles Candy

Created in 1921 by Fred W. Amend in Danville, Illinois, Chuckles became one of America’s earliest commercially successful jelly candies. Amend initially manufactured marshmallows before developing a jelly candy recipe that addressed a common problem known as “sweating,” which caused moisture to collect on the surface of jelly candy. His solution was to coat each piece with sugar, creating the familiar exterior and chewy center that still define Chuckles today. The brand changed ownership several times before becoming part of Ferrara Candy Company, which continues producing Chuckles more than a century after their introduction.

Chuckles Jelly Candy, Packs & Boxes

We carry Chuckles Jelly Candy in individual packs, full boxes, theater boxes, mini pieces, and other package options as they become available. The original assortment includes Cherry, Lemon, Lime, Orange, and Licorice, but this category is not limited to one pack or assortment. Chuckles are known for their soft, chewy texture, sugar-coated exterior, bright colors, and rectangular shape. These classic jelly candies are popular for movie nights, road trips, offices, concession stands, candy displays, gift baskets, nostalgic candy collections, parties, and regular candy orders. Since new products and package options can be added at any time, the candy shown is what is available now, but that could always change, and likely will.
