About PayDay Candy Bars

PayDay Candy was introduced in 1932 by Frank Martoccio, founder of the Hollywood Candy Company. Salted peanuts surrounding a chewy caramel center gave the bar a sweet-and-salty flavor that set it apart from many chocolate-covered candy bars of the era. According to Hershey, employees were trying to name the new candy on the day they received their paychecks, which inspired the PayDay name. Hershey added PayDay to its candy portfolio in 1996 and continues producing the brand today.
