About Ring Pop Candy

Ring Pop Candy was launched in 1977 by Topps with Strawberry and Grape as its original flavors. Product engineer Frank Richards is credited with inventing the wearable lollipop while looking for a way to help his daughter stop sucking her thumb. Its gemstone-shaped hard candy mounted on a plastic ring turned the lollipop into both candy and wearable novelty. Ring Pop later became part of Bazooka Candy Brands, which continues producing the brand today. Funds advised by Apax Partners acquired Bazooka Candy Brands in 2023.
