Introduced in 1893 by the Quaker City Chocolate & Confectionery Company in Philadelphia, Good & Plenty is one of the oldest branded candies in the United States. The brand became even more familiar during the 1950s through television commercials featuring Choo-Choo Charlie, a railroad engineer who shook a candy box to imitate the sound of a moving train. Good & Plenty joined The Hershey Company in 1996 and is now produced in Memphis, Tennessee.
