About Spree Candy

Spree Candy was introduced in 1967 and became known for its colorful, fruit-flavored candies with a sweet and tangy taste. The brand originated with Sunline, a St. Louis confectionery company whose candy portfolio eventually became part of Nestlé. Ferrero acquired Nestlé’s U.S. confectionery business in 2018, and Spree is now part of Ferrara Candy Company, which is one of the biggest candy brands here in our store. Ferrara continues producing Spree today and has also introduced new products under the longtime brand, including a freeze-dried version launched in 2025.

Spree Original, Chewy Candy & Flavors

We carry Original Spree, Chewy Spree, and other Spree products as they become available. Original Spree features round pressed candy pieces covered with a colorful fruit-flavored shell, giving each piece a firm, crunchy bite followed by the sweet and tart flavor associated with the brand. Chewy Spree keeps the colorful candy shell while replacing the harder center with a softer, chewy texture. Classic Spree flavors include Cherry, Orange, Lemon, Lime, and Grape. Ferrara has also expanded the brand with newer candy styles, including Spree Freeze Dried, which transforms the familiar candy into a lighter, crispier texture. Products shown are what is available now, but that could always change, and likely will as additional Spree products and package sizes become available.
