Skittles Candy originated in the United Kingdom in 1974 and was imported into the United States that same year. U.S. manufacturing began in 1981, and Skittles later became part of Wrigley within Mars in 2009. Colorful candy shells, chewy fruit-flavored centers, and the long-running “Taste the Rainbow” identity helped turn Skittles into one of Mars’ best-known candy brands. Original Skittles currently include Strawberry, Lime, Grape, Lemon, and Orange, with Lime returning to the classic U.S. mix after previously being replaced by Green Apple.
