About Gilliam Candy

Gilliam Candy was founded in 1927 by Cleve Gilliam in Paducah, Kentucky. The company’s early products included the Kentucky Blue Grass nickel candy bar, but Gilliam became especially recognized for its striped old-fashioned candy sticks. During the 1930s, the business expanded its product line with additional candies such as Bacon Slice, Tummy Full, and Cello Sally. Quality Candy Company acquired Gilliam in 2003, preserving the historic candy-stick line and continuing to distribute it through nostalgic candy stores, general stores, and national retailers.
