Sweetarts Candy

About SweeTARTS Candy

SweeTARTS Candy was introduced in 1963 by Sunline, Inc., the St. Louis candy company behind Pixy Stix. Sunline developed the original SweeTARTS by compressing its sweet-and-tart powdered candy formula into small tablets, creating a less messy way to enjoy the same distinctive flavor. Ownership changed over the decades, and SweeTARTS eventually became part of Nestlé’s U.S. confectionery business. Ferrara acquired that business in 2018 and continues producing SweeTARTS today. More than 60 years after its debut, the brand has expanded from its original pressed candy into chewy, gummy, rope, and freeze-dried products.

SweeTARTS Original, Chewy, Gummies & Ropes

We carry SweeTARTS Original, Giant Chewy, Mini Chewy, Chewy Fusions, Gummies, Gummy Halos, Ropes, Twisted Rainbow Ropes, and other products as they become available. Original SweeTARTS retain the firm, compressed-candy texture and sweet-and-tart taste that established the brand, while chewy and gummy products offer softer textures. Ropes combine a soft candy exterior with a tart filling, and newer products such as Gummy Halos and Fruity Splitz continue expanding the brand beyond its traditional tablet candy. Ferrara has also introduced freeze-dried SweeTARTS, adding a light, crunchy texture to the current collection. Products shown are what is available now, but that could always change, and likely will as additional SweeTARTS candy and seasonal products become available.
