View full detailsChocolate candy is the largest and most historically significant of all candy flavors. In other words, it’s The Sultan of Swat, The Titan of Terror, The Colossus of Clout, and the King of Crash of Chocolate! Yeah, we got that from Sandlot, but when comparing chocolate to historical greatness, the Great Bambino is who came to mind. However, chocolate is much older than baseball, with the earliest known records dating back over 5,000 years in what is now known as Mexico. There is also evidence that it was used in drinks as early as 600 BC.
Once the Spanish discovered it in the 1500s, they brought it back to Spain and used it in medicine. Then, sometime in the 19th century, the Swiss got hold of it, and the rest is history! Nowadays, chocolate candy comes in three main categories, including dark, milk, and white, although some will debate that the real number is four, as ruby chocolate is often recognized as a standalone chocolate type, but we’ll let you decide. We currently have over 750 chocolate candy listings here at Candy Retailer, further proving its status as the king of candy!
