View full detailsProduced by a family-owned company, Palmer Candy has been producing candy since 1878. The Palmer family has owned the company for five generations. It is one of the oldest candy companies in the United States. Palmer is also the oldest company of its size to have been continually owned by a family.
The company began as a wholesale fruit business. In 1900, they diversified by delving into the candy business. Palmer quickly outgrew its quarters once it began selling bulk candies and hard candy. The first candies sold included hand-dipped chocolates, penny candy, gumdrops, and marshmallows.
Their most famous candy bar, the Bing was introduced in 1923. Bing bars came in maple, vanilla, pineapple, and cherry flavors. The Cherry Bing continues to be made by hand and is a popular treat in the Midwest. Cherry Bing bars consist of cherry nougat encased by chocolate. The bars now go by the name Twin Bing.
In 1941, the company purchased another candy producer that also sold nuts. In 1956, they acquired the Johnson Biscuit Company and acquired the La Fama brand. The business' fruit division closed its doors in 1969, allowing Palmer Candy to focus on candy. Today, the brand produces a seemingly endless variety of candies for holidays and for every day.
We have Palmer Candy for Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, and other major holidays. We also have everyday treats like peppermint bark and Yoo-Hoo Chocolate candy bars. Browse our extensive selection of candies by Palmer. You will certainly recognize many of your classic favorites.
