First and foremost, I love Salt Water Taffy, especially from Taffy Delight, which offers nearly 100 different flavors, and yes, I’ve tried them all. I know that doesn’t sound very healthy, but I write a lot of candy content, so not much gets past me! The way I see it, if I don’t sample it, then I don’t have the right to write about it. As for this article, I picked out ten of the strangest Salt Water Taffy flavors I tried, which was a lot, but these ten really stood out in a very strange way!
That said, I want to be clear before proceeding… I love candy, and I’ll never knock something just because I don’t like it or think it’s strange! The truth is, not everyone will agree! I may find something like buttered popcorn saltwater taffy to be extraordinary in the weirdest way ever, but that doesn’t mean anything because you might find the best-tasting taffy you’ve ever had in your life! Also, I’ll never tell you I’ve tried them all, so you don’t have to!
In fact, I want you to try them and experience them as I did, so if I say I don’t like something, it’s not to say that it’s nasty; instead, this was a strange flavor, but what do you think? We all have different opinions, and none of us gets to decide what we like and dislike; our taste buds decide, which becomes quite undeniable! For example, I would love to like pickle saltwater taffy, but my taste buds disagree, so once again, I had no say in the matter!
1. Buttered Popcorn Salt Water Taffy
As you know, I’ve tried a lot of candy over the year, especially Salt Water Taffy, and all I can say is that this buttered popcorn taffy tops the list of the strangest taffy flavors I’ve ever tried. Now, I can’t say it was nasty because it wasn’t; however, it was very strange because it tasted like sweet buttered popcorn, yet it’s not that; it’s something entirely different, so that alone can play with your mind as you munch of this particular flavor! Would I recommend it? Absolutely.

4. Fruity Cereal Salt Water Taffy
As for fruity cereal saltwater taffy, you may ask yourself, how is that strange? But the truth of the matter is that it just was just that… strange! In my opinion, it tasted a lot like Fruit Pepples, which is my favorite cereal of all time, so it’ll take something extraordinary to top that, but this taffy flavor came very close! So, did I like it? As strange as it was to taste salt water taffy, which tasted similar to my favorite cereal, I liked it a lot. However, it can be quite addicting, so if you like Fruity Pepples as I do, you might want to approach it cautiously!

6. Pickle Salt Water Taffy
Okay, now this pickle saltwater taffy is most likely the strangest candy flavor I ever tasted in my life! Now, I love pickles, especially cold, whole dill pickles, but this was something entirely out of this world, and I found it to be more of a dare-type candy than one you can enjoy from time to time! Did I at least like it? Not even a little bit. Would I recommend it? You know I would. The truth is, you may absolutely love it. That said, I double dare you to give it a try!

7. Tangerine Salt Water Taffy
As for tangerine saltwater taffy, I found this one to be a little strange because I’ve never had tangerine-flavored candy before trying this taffy! It’s a very rare candy flavor, but as for it being a taffy flavor, I found it to be strange because it actually tasted like tangerines, but instead of being refreshing and juicy, it was squishy and creamy! Did I like it? Sort of, but I probably won’t do it again. Should you try it? If I were you, I’d absolutely give it a spin; you may find it the best-tasting saltwater taffy you have ever tried! You never know until you try it, though!

9. Golden Pear Salt Water Taffy
Now, why would I add pear saltwater taffy to my list of the strangest taffy flavors? Well, like tangerine, I’ve never had pear-flavored candy before trying this taffy, so naturally, it came off very strange! I love pears; it’s one of my favorite fruits, especially sliced and chilled pears, but as with tangerine, this one tasted like a fruit that I know and appreciate, but instead of juicy and crisp, I found it to be squishy and creamy, which was just too strange for me to enjoy! Nonetheless, you may love it, so here’s my invitation to you!

10. German Chocolate Cake Salt Water Taffy
As for German chocolate cake saltwater taffy, this one makes the list because this is my absolute favorite cake flavor, and this taffy tasted just like it. In fact, it was so similar in taste that it confused me while eating it. Nobody can make this cake flavor like my grandfather, so I had very low expectations initially, but to my surprise, it was on the money! I found it to be warm, authentic-tasting, and extremely strange! The flavor was 100% there, but the feel was out of this world, which is why it’s one of the strangest taffy flavors I’ve ever had.
