Cheez-It’s College Football Campaign Celebrates Teachers with Significant Contributions
Cheez-It is stepping up to support educators in a big way this college football season. The brand has announced a unique campaign that pairs the excitement of college football with a noble cause: aiding teachers who make a difference.
In an engaging twist, six college football athletes have been invited to share stories about their most influential teachers. These educators, known for inspiring their students in both academics and sports, are not just being celebrated; they are receiving tangible rewards. Cheez-It is gifting each of these teachers a special Cheez-It swag box and is also donating $5,000 directly to their classrooms and an additional $5,000 to their respective schools.
But that’s not all. Cheez-It is also making a significant contribution of $250,000 to the College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers initiative. This program, recognized as the largest of its kind in the sports realm, focuses on empowering and motivating teachers. This substantial donation has already funded numerous projects, benefiting over 198 teachers across 103 schools, with more planned for the upcoming Cheez-It Citrus Bowl in January.
Cara Tragseiler, the Senior Director of Brand Marketing at Kellanova, the company behind Cheez-It, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with the CFP Foundation and Extra Yard for Teachers. She emphasized the brand’s commitment to elevating the teaching profession. One particularly touching moment was shared on Cheez-It’s Instagram. Stanford defensive back Terrian Williams surprised his favorite teacher with a $10,000 donation to Dutchtown Elementary in Atlanta, Georgia, showcasing the tangible impact of this initiative.
Kellanova’s commitment extends beyond this campaign. Through their Better Days Promise, they aim to impact 4 billion people positively by 2030. This includes environmental and social initiatives, of which this teacher support program is a part.
