Bubble Jug Tropical Fruit Bubble Gum, originally launched by Wrigley in the ’90s, has made a triumphant return to the candy scene thanks to Iconic Candy. For those who grew up in the ’90s, like me, this gum was a memorable part of childhood. While I wasn’t the biggest fan back then, I definitely remember how it tasted, and let me tell you—Iconic Candy nailed it. The flavor is exactly as I remembered it, like stepping back into 1995.

A Bubble Jug Blast from the Past

The iconic pink mini plastic jug is back, too, instantly bringing back memories for anyone who remembers seeing these. But if you’re unfamiliar with Bubble Jug, here’s the rundown: it’s not your typical gum. Instead of chewing straight from a stick or piece, you pour out a powdery substance that clumps together after a few chews and forms gum! 

For some, this transition from powder to gum is part of the fun and nostalgia; for others—like me—it’s an odd texture that never quite worked. Personally, I’m not a big fan of the powder-to-gum transition, but I can see why people love it. The mixed gum powder can be a quirky experience, with little clumps forming in your mouth as you chew. It’s certainly unique; for many, it’s all part of the appeal.

As for the flavor, it’s a classic tropical fruit, bursting with that sweet, juicy taste we all loved growing up. It hasn’t changed a bit—it’s a perfect replica of what you’d expect from a gum brand stuck in a 90s time capsule! So, if you’re craving a trip down memory lane, this is the gum for you. The flavor hits hard with nostalgia, staying true to its original formula.

Trying Bubble Jug Again or for the First Time

Even though I’m not a fan of the texture, I must admit that Bubble Jug is still a hit. Since Iconic Candy revived it, we’ve been selling out consistently, proving a significant demand from fans of retro candies. Here are my pros and cons based only on my experience. Remember, this is only my opinion; you may totally agree or disagree! However, you’ll have to try Bubble Jug to know for sure. 

Pros:

• Authentic Flavor: It tastes exactly like the original, capturing the sweet, juicy tropical fruit flavor from 1995.
• Unique Concept: The transformation from powder to gum offers a fun and interactive experience different from traditional gum.
• Iconic Packaging: Comes in the classic pink mini plastic jug, instantly bringing back memories and adding to the overall experience.
• High Demand: Since its revival by Iconic Candy, it’s been selling out consistently, proving its popularity among fans of retro candies.
• Future Flavors Incoming: More flavors are reportedly coming, adding excitement and variety for fans.
• Great for Sharing: This is an excellent way to share a piece of your childhood with your own kids or friends who appreciate nostalgic treats.

Cons:

• Texture Issues: Even though I listed it as a pro, the powder-to-gum transition might not be enjoyable for everyone.
• Limited Flavor (For Now): Bubble Jug is only available in Tropical Fruit, but more flavors are expected soon. 
• Not an Easy Find: Unlike in the ‘90s, this iconic candy brand isn’t easy to find; however, you’ll have no problem finding it here at Candy Retailer! 

Final Thoughts on Bubble Jug Bubble Gum

While Bubble Jug Tropical Fruit Bubble Gum might not be my personal favorite, I appreciate what Iconic Candy has achieved in bringing back this classic brand from my younger days! The overwhelming response since its relaunch—selling like hotcakes—shows it still has a dedicated fan base.
