Now and Later Candy
A product of Ferrara Candy Company, Now and Later Candy was originally produced by the Phoenix Candy Company in Brooklyn. The individually-wrapped candies derive their name from the notion that you can enjoy them now and have more later. Others believe the name alludes to the long-lasting chewiness of the candy. The manufacturers introduced candies as a replacement for chewing gum.
Now and Later Candy is square in shape and comes in multipacks. The original texture of the candies is a hard, yet pliable taffy-like texture that softens in the mouth. The candy is very firm, but chewy, offering a long-lasting experience. When first introduced, the candies were available in fourteen flavors. Today, there are twelve flavors currently available. The candies have always come stacked in a bar. The bar is separated into smaller stacks according to flavor.
Recently, the famous candy has become available in mixed bags. The mixed bags are available in Original, Sour, Shell Shocked, Extreme Sour, and Extreme Shell Shocked varieties. The Shell Shocked variety has a crunchy hard candy shell. Now and Later is also available in Splits, which are individual squares made of two flavors. Each flavor occupies one entire side of the candy piece. Morphs are a variety that changes flavor over time. These candies have an outer casing that is one flavor and a center that is a different flavor.
Now and Later Candy is a happy medium between a softer chewy candy, a long-lasting hard candy, and gum. If you are new to the brand, we recommend starting with the original variety before exploring other options.
